Fletchers Farm, Great Ayton

Tailored Solar Panel and Battery Storage System

Anelec had the privilege of working on Fletchers Farm Coffee Shop in Great Ayton, where we installed a solar panel system along with a battery storage solution. This project aimed to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability, benefiting the farm’s operations and reducing its carbon footprint. The system was carefully designed to meet the specific energy needs of the business, contributing to both environmental and economic savings.

We installed 130kW JA Solar panels on the roof of the coffee shop and farm buildings, using a Renusol mounting system for secure installation. The system was connected via Solis inverters, ensuring efficient energy conversion and performance. To complement the solar installation, a 27kW Tesla Powerwall storage system was installed in the farmhouse, enabling the farm to store excess energy produced during the day for use at night.

Significant Energy Savings and Environmental Impact

The solar panel system is expected to pay for itself in just under five years, offering a significant reduction in energy bills. Beyond financial savings, the installation will help save over 19 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, significantly lowering the environmental impact of the farm. This system not only reduces the farm’s reliance on the national grid but also supports its sustainability goals by providing a greener energy solution.

Enjoying the Scenic View with Sustainable Energy Solutions

Our team was delighted to work on this project, with the added bonus of stunning views of Captain Cook’s Monument and Roseberry Topping. Fletchers Farm’s solar and battery storage installation is a prime example of how sustainable energy can benefit local businesses, providing both immediate savings and long-term environmental benefits. The project highlights the positive impact of renewable energy solutions in rural settings, demonstrating the value of investing in cleaner energy sources for a sustainable future.
